Professional hotplates, stirrers, and hotplate/stirrers are designed for applications that require exceptional accuracy, stability and repeatability. Exclusive safety system helps protect operator and sample. Powerful micro-processor control offers an external probe option that delivers ±1% temperature stability. Stirring function, with continuous duty motor and magnet, maintains set speed even under changing load or viscosity. Separate LED displays for temperature, speed and time allow operator to view all settings at once. Display is easily visible from outside fume hoods or across lab benches. Spill-resistant housing channels fluids away from internal components. Hotplates and hotplate/stirrers are supplied with a probe kit package. The probe kit includes 8"(20.3cm) stainless steel probe, 12"(30.5cm) flex arm, interchangeable 3-prong clamp, 2-prong clamp and spring clamp heads.

Safety System Includes:

• Maximum temperature limiting - User defined plate limiting temperature ensures unit will never exceed users programmed limit, allowing for control of sensitive flash points (for heating models).
• Probe protection - If probe disengages from sample, unit will automatically shut off heater (for heating models).
• Stir protection - If stirrer motor stops or fails, unit will automatically shut down heater (for stirring models).
• Overshoot protection - If unit exceeds set temperature by 10°C unit will automatically shut down (for heating models).
• Hot top indicator - Hot symbol warning light is illuminated when unit is heated above 40°C. Remains on until unit cools below 40°C, even when heater is turned off (for heating models).
• Audible alarm - In timed mode alarm will sound when time reaches zero or when unit reaches set-point temperature (for heating models).

Micro-processor control - Regulates both heating and stirring functions. Samples are heated to temperature quickly and accurately. Speed is precisely controlled,and provides consistent stirring throughout the entire range. Ramping feature slowly increases speed to avoid splashing, improves magnetic coupling and provides excellent low speed control.

LED display - Shows set point and actual temperatures, speed from 60 to 1600 rpm and time from 1 second to 160 hours. Display is easy-to-read and provides repeatable and accurate results every time. Timer will display elapsed time or when programmed to user defined limit, will shut off unit when time reaches zero.

Ceramic or aluminum top plate materials - Ceramic tops feature a chemical resistant, reflective white top plate surface that's easy to clean. Durable aluminum tops will provide a more even heating surface and will not crack or chip.

Electronic stir brake - Quickly stops spin bar when stir function is turned off. Powerful, continuous duty motor and magnet deliver dependable and reliable stirring for a long service life (for stirring models).

Optional NIST traceable certificate - Includes a 4 point NIST traceable calibration.The traceable certificate includes actual calibration measurement data and uncertainty. The calibration laboratory is NVLAP accredited to the ISO/IEC 17025 standard (for heating models).
