Stainless Steel Slotted Weights General Information
Stainless Steel Slotted Weights are used in a variety of applications such
as pressure, torque, and tensile strength testing. Stainless Steel Slotted
Weights are typically used with a hanger that also has its weight calibrated
so the hanger can be used as part of the overall weight under test. Several
Stainless Steel Slotted Weights may be used together to build up from a
minimum weight to a maximum test load. The hanger weight selected should be
able to accommodate the total load needed. Contact your Troemner sales
representative for more information on hangers.
Tolerances
Stainless Steel Slotted Weights can be provided in a variety of tolerance
classes from ANSI/ASTM Class 1 through ANSI/ASTM Class 6. Please see the
Tolerance Chart within the Mass Standards Handbook for specific information
on the tolerance of each weight to determine the class you need. When
ordering Stainless Steel Slotted Weights, please specify the part number and
the tolerance class desired.
Construction and General Shape
Troemner's Stainless Steel Slotted Weights are manufactured from Stainless
Steel that meets ANSI/ASTM E617 hardness requirements. Each weight has the
nominal value stamped into the topside of the weight. The interlocking
design helps secure a stack of slotted weights onto a hanger. Hangers are
available in a variety of lengths and weight capacities. Contact us for
information on hangers. Hooks on hangers have a 1/2 inch opening.

Surface Finish
All surfaces shall be smooth and free of scratches to meet ANSI/ASTM E617
specifications for their given tolerance class. For ANSI/ASTM E617 surface
finish specifications see the Mass Standards Handbook on the website.
